Spice launches multi-SIM M-5161, M-6363 Mobile Phones

Spice Mobiles launched two multi-SIM phones, M-6363 & M-5161. These multi-SIM Spice mobile phones have widescreen displays for enhanced video and image viewing ability and give longer battery life, said the company.



The Spice M-6363 mobile phone has a 2-inch screen and a 2MP webcam. The M-6363 phone promises to support a talktime of 7 hours off a single charge from its 1500 mAh battery pack. The Spice M-6363 also has entertainment options built-in: the mobile phone has a video player, MP3 player, FM recording with wireless FM. The Spice M-6363 mobile phone has dual expandable memory slots and Bluetooth support. The phone supports motion-sensing flick to change songs, too.

The Spice M-5161 mobile phone also has a 2-inch screen. But compared to the Spice M-6363, the Spice M-5161 mobile phone has slightly inferior battery of 1200 mAh. The M-5161 phone shares common features with the M-6363, like: video player, MP3 player, FM recording and wireless FM, expandable memory and connectivity options of Bluetooth to send and receive files and GPRS support.

Commenting on the launch of the Spice M-5161 & M-6363 mobile phones, Mr. Kunal Ahooja, CEO & Director of Spice Mobiles said, "It has been a constant endeavour at Spice Mobiles to develop products at cost effective price. Both the Spice M-6363 and M-5161 phones are available across India through more than 50,000 retail points including the 750+ Spice HotSpot retail network. The Spice M-6363 mobile phone sells for a price of Rs. 2,999 and the Spice M-5161 phone retails for a price of Rs. 2,499.

Mi-Fone launches new Mi-Q range of QWERTY handsets

Mi-Fone (BVI) Ltd has announced the launch of Mi-Q range of low cost QWERTY mobile phones - Mi-Q+, Mi-Q1 and Mi-Q5.

The latest Mi-Fone handsets are affordable, stylish and designed to give young consumers a 'Blackberry experience' at a fraction of the cost. Targeting primarily the young Indian market, Mi-Fone sees the Mi-Q range of mobile phones as the perfect alternative to low cost Blackberry devices.

"The young Indian is techno-savvy, stylish and plugged into the global network through their mobile phones. With this range comprising of 3 Models viz: Mi-Q+, Mi-Q1 & Mi-Q5; Mi-Fone is providing the young Indian with everything he or she needs in a QWERTY handset including Email, Instant Messaging and uploading and downloading of documents.

At the bottom end is the basic Mi-Q+ with GPRS Class 10, WAP 2.0, capacity to receive and send MMS, FM radio, a torchlight and the QWERTY keypad for faster sms.

The dual-SIM Mi-Q1 mobile phone has GPRS/WAP/MMS and MP3/Video capabilities with a memory capacity of up to 1G. Mi-Q1 is as an effective multimedia QWERTY mobile phone targeting young genertation in India.

Micromax Launches New X395 Dual SIM Mobile phone in india

Micromax has launched a new Dual Sim mobile phone Micromax X395 in India. The new handset is preloaded with motion sensor which switch networks with just a shake. It also comes with 2.4 inches QVGA display supporting 240 x 320 pixels of resolution, 1.3 megapixel Camera with Stereo FM radio and recording. 10 New AKAI Mobile Phones Launched in India

AKAI, one of the largest Japanese Consumer Electronics brands with an extensive presence in India announced its entry into the Mobile Handset segment in India with the launch of 10 exciting new models in the dual SIM (GSM+GSM) category. The innovatively designed handsets are affordably prices between Rs.1895/- to Rs.7995/-.

The range will appeal to consumers across all segments, with a special focus on the youth, and are currently available across 8,000 retail outlets in the country. The company plans to ramp up the number of retail outlets to 20,000 by end-September, 2010, the company said in New Delhi.

The company will import the handsets from Akai's factory and from Europe.

"We have introduced a range of phones that will cater to the requirements of all segments of consumers across categories. We hope to become a prominent player in the Rs. 700 billion mobile handset market in the coming years," Akai India Managing Director Pranay Dhabhai said.

Asked about Akai's plans to enter other business verticals, Dhabhai said, "We are looking into other verticals like inverters, netbooks, accessories for mobile phones (and) fixed line wireless phones."

In the basic models, the company has offered features like a Dual Sim, long-lasting battery and large high resolution QVGA screen, while the high-end models include a full touch 3-D user interface, wi-fi, wireless FM with recording, compatibility with social networking sites and e-book compatibility.

The company will launch 3G models by the end of this year, Dhabhai said, adding that its handsets are undergoing trials.

On sales of the company's headsets, Dhabhai said, "Sales from next month, that is, October, are expected to be a lakh per month and by the end of first year of our operations, we expect to have 3 per cent of the total mobile market share."

Akai will make a significant initial investment for setting up the back-end infrastructure for its mobile models and will set up a Level 4 service centre in Gurgaon for repairing mobiles.

"In Gurgaon, we are looking for a centre to repair mobile chip with an investment of about Rs. 5 crore to Rs. 10 crore. It is in the planning stage. By early next year." Dhabhai added.

The company sees after-service as an area that is not focused on by local brands and has invested heavily in setting up a complete service network across India.

The company has 465 service centres across the length and breadth of the country, of which 218 service centres are dedicated for mobile phone back-up services, right from basic servicing to component level repairs.
